Bond Equipment’s team has exceptional Dense Medium Separation expertise. This knowledge and know-how are used to match the specific iron ore’s mineral properties to a specific beneficiation process in order to extract it economically viable.
This unique capability consists of testing facilities to do commercial scale processing test work on the mineral (comprehensive ore characterisation facility) and the novel dense medium processing plant designs enables the optimum commercial extraction of the mineral from the in-situ ore. The final product of the mineral obtained from this processing technology is usually of at least equal quality to the required final product specifications and at a much higher product yield than any other competing technology like conventional dense gravity concentration technology like jigging or spirals (ultra-fine material).
In some applications the Ultra-High and Ultra-Fine DMS Technology (“UH & UFDMS Technology”) is also
used, able of removing near density gaunge/waste material which is not possible with any other
technology without sacrificing yield and final product quality.
Important note: The dense medium separation (DMS) processing principles are the same for most
minerals. The Bond Processing Technology however is an “integrated package” which includes the inhouse capability to characterise any mineral to inform the design for an optimum processing route to extract maximum value. It is a differentiating factor when it comes to especially low-grade ores and/or ore types that need simultaneous processing (cannot be mined separately). This technology is superior to any other concentration technology package and offer significantly improved processing efficiencies for various minerals that include iron ore, chromite, andalusite, manganese, cobalt, copper (sulphides & oxides), platinum (PGMs), zinc, lead, diamonds, nickel, lithium, silver, tin and gemstones.
This Technology is also capable of recovering valuable minerals from mining and metal smelter
dumps, as well as historical processing plant tailings which could generate revenue for rehabilitation
of these dumps and therefore benefits the environmental requirements and compliance for mining
companies. This usually also improves quality of life through employment/job creation and safety of
communities living in around these mine low grade in-situ resources and low grade/historical dumps.
